Karimeen Pollichathu/PearlSpot Fish Fry in Banana Leaf

Ingredients 


1. Fried PearlSpot fish/Karimeen – 1nos
2. Coconut Oil – 2tbsp 
3. Curry Leaves – 2strings 
4. Onions or Shallots – 1large or 15shallots 
5. Ginger Garlic Paste – ½ tbsp 
6. Red chilli powder – ½ tbsp 
7. Turmeric Powder – ¼ tbsp 
8. Salt 
9. Coriander Powder – ¼ tbsp 
10. Meat Masala or Chicken Masala Powder – ½ tbsp 
11. Pepper Powder – ¼ tbsp 
12. Tomato – 1 Chopped 
13. Coconut Milk – ¼ of a glass 

Instructions 


1. Firstly prepare the fish fry. Karimeen/Pearlspot fish fry recipe link is given above 

2. In a pan add oil ,put some curry leaves and onions.
Add some salt then add ginger garlic paste. Saute for 5minutes till it begin to change its colour to golden brown
Add Red chilli powder,turmeric powder,coriander powder,Meat masala or chicken masala,pepper powder. Mix well in low flame


3. Add the chopped tomatoes. Smash and cook them for around 3 to 5 minutes.
When the tomatoes turns mushy switch off the flame and add coconut milk. Give a mix Keep it aside


4. Take a slightly roasted banana leaf to cover and wrap the fish fry. Place some prepared masala paste on it and place the Fish fry on top.
Apply some masala on top of the fish fry and then cover and fold. Fold it from both sides and tie it with a string properly. Make it as a packet


5. Now on a heated pan or tawa add some oil and place the packet on it and fry on both sides for 10minutes. Serve the dish immediately with its hot and mouthwatering smell!!!!
