Ingredients
1. Raw Plantain/Kaya – 1nos2. Gram Flour(Besan or Kadalamavu) – ¾ cup
3. Rice Flour – 3Tbsp
4. Turmeric Powder – ¼ Tsp
5. Chilli Powder – ½ Tsp
6. Hing(Asafoetida) – ½ Tsp
7. Salt – ¾ Tsp
8. Water – ½ cup
9. Baking Soda – ¼ Tsp
10. Oil – For frying
Instructions
1. Peel the skin of raw plantain. Cut it into slightly thick lengthy slices. Soak them in a bowl of water. Keep it aside.2. For batter Preparation , Take a bowl add Gram flour,Rice powder,Turmeric powder,Chilli powder,Hing(Asafoetida),Salt and mix them well. After that add water and whisk it into a batter(Add more water if required)
3. Add Baking soda and mix well. The batter prepared must be thick.
4. Take the sliced raw plantain from water and pat dry. Remove excess moisture
5. Heat a pan with oil. Dip the sliced piece one by one into the batter and coat it well. When the oil gets boiled put the batter coated pieces one by one into it. Flip over to fry it on both sides.
6. When the colour changes to golden and crisp, take it out and drain off
7. Our Banana Pakora/Bajji or Kaya Bajji is ready to serve!!!!
